Leading Experienced Employees / High Performers

Leading experienced employees is a critical component of successful human resource management and organizational behaviour. These employees possess a wealth of knowledge and skills gained from their long-standing tenure with the organization.
As such, they are invaluable assets to the organization, with a deep understanding of its culture, values, and processes. To maximize the value of these employees, it is essential to recognize and appreciate their contributions, provide growth and development opportunities, and leverage their expertise to benefit the organization.
By doing so, organizations can ensure that their leading experienced employees are empowered to reach their highest potential, driving high performance and success.
High performance, on the other hand, refers to the achievement of superior results by individuals, teams, or organizations. High performance can be achieved through a variety of means, including effective leadership, clear goals and objectives, performance measurement and feedback, employee engagement and motivation, and a supportive organizational culture.
A company with more top performers will usually outshine its competitors.
How valuable is a high-performing employee? Studies have shown that one top achiever can deliver as much productivity as up to four average employees.
In this SIM, you are the Vice President of Sales of a large financial institution with multiple locations across the country. You have been running virtual meetings with the ten Regional Managers (RMs) every month. Although these meetings have been largely constructive, more recently, one of the RMs, Rob, has been dominating the meetings. He volunteers to take on almost any new task/project and excels; others have complained. His KPIs are strong, and his team consistently outperform the remaining regions. You are struggling during these meetings due to the occasional disengagement of other members as a result of this particular RM.
